Aziz Yıldırım: We Will Sign a Striker, We Will Finalize It This Week

Fenerbahçe President Aziz Yıldırım made important statements about the agenda at the yellow-and-navy blue club's High Advisory Board Meeting. Yıldırım shared the goal of bringing a striker to the team and announced that this transfer would be finalized within the week. The president stated that a total of 138 million euros had been spent on the transfers of Mason Greenwood, Nathan Ake, and Vedat Muriqi, and said that the budget limits for the upcoming player had also been examined and that no additional action was needed.

Speaking harshly about the club's financial past at the meeting, Yıldırım emphasized that when they took office, they did not need any of the club's resources. Reminding that approximately 15 million euros in shares were received from broadcasting revenues, but that Anatolian clubs were merged into a partnership and championship shares were abolished, the president stated that the necessary steps would be taken in the broadcasting tender to be held next June. Yıldırım also claimed that the sum exceeding 50 million euros that the previous administration proudly mentioned actually came from the sale of his own land, and asserted that this money had also been spent.

The president stated that the Chobani sponsorship and jersey advertisement revenues had been collected in advance as part of multi-year agreements, and warned that this issue should be discussed carefully. Yıldırım explained that they had to make a payment of 2 million 950 thousand euros for a player transferred from Sevilla after taking office, and noted that he and his management colleagues had spent a total of 65 million euros from club resources to date.

Aziz Yıldırım also reacted to certain statements made about himself and his family, stating that he would take the necessary legal steps. Reiterating that he took office to bring the club back to championship glory, the president added that they were at the beginning of a difficult process but would achieve their goals with the support of the congress members.
