Fatih Tekke on the Salah transfer: 'Nothing has become official'

Trabzonspor faced Italian side Udinese in a friendly match during their training camp series in Austria and came away with a 1-0 victory. Speaking after the match, head coach Fatih Tekke commented both on the team's general situation and on the most talked-about transfer rumor of recent days.

Answering questions about Mohamed Salah, Tekke said the Egyptian star is one of the world's leading footballers and that having his name associated with Trabzonspor is valuable for the club. However, he emphasized that there has been no official development regarding the transfer, stating that it would not be appropriate to comment further, and that mere talk would not lead to any result. Tekke also underlined that importance must be given to nurturing and developing players for the future of the club.

The young coach said they expect one, two, or even three new names to join the squad, noting that the roster has not yet been fully settled. Tekke stressed that players need to adapt to each other and become physically fit enough to last 90 minutes, reminding everyone that a friendly against Göztepe lies ahead, followed by the league and European competitions.

Tekke said he could not claim the team was one hundred percent ready, but that overall they were at a good level. The head coach stated that completing the camp without any injuries was their most important achievement, adding that a difficult season lies ahead.
