Fenerbahçe's Oosterwolde injured, leaves field on stretcher
In the UEFA Champions League 3rd qualifying round match between Fenerbahçe and Sturm Graz, Jayden Oosterwolde was forced to leave the game in tears due to injury.
Fenerbahçe hosted Sturm Graz in Kadıköy in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League 3rd qualifying round. In the 28th minute of the match, a sad injury occurred for the yellow-navy blue team, and the stands suddenly fell silent.
Dutch defender Jayden Oosterwolde collapsed to the ground due to an injury to his upper left hamstring during a duel with an opposing player. After referee Chris Kavanagh stopped the game, medical teams entered the field to provide first aid to the young footballer.
Unable to bear the pain and unable to hold back his tears, Oosterwolde left the field on a stretcher after it became clear following treatment that he could not continue the match. After his teammates also made the substitution sign, the 25-year-old player left the field of play sorrowfully.
English defender Archie Brown was added to Fenerbahçe's squad in place of the injured Oosterwolde. There has been no official statement from the club yet regarding the extent of the young player's injury.
