Fenerbahçe issues health update on Kerem Aktürkoğlu and Marco Asensio

Fenerbahçe issued a statement regarding the health condition of Kerem Aktürkoğlu, who was carried off the pitch on a stretcher after taking a blow to the head during the 4-2 win over Konyaspor in the 2nd week of the Süper Lig. In the announcement made by the club, it was stated that no negative findings were detected in the player's latest examinations and that his overall health condition was good. Following this development, Aktürkoğlu was discharged from the hospital in the evening after the checks were completed.

The yellow-and-navy blue club's head coach Oğuz Çetin shared more detailed information about the health status of the two players after the match. Accordingly, Kerem Aktürkoğlu suffered a concussion as a result of the blow he received and was placed under a monitoring process expected to last at least 10 days, in line with FIFA's recommended 'Concussion Protocol'. The player's timeline for returning to the pitch will become clear based on the checks to be carried out during this process and the evaluations of the medical team.

Worrying news also came regarding Marco Asensio, who was substituted in the same match. MRI scans taken at Medicana Ataşehir Hospital revealed a strain and tear in the upper muscle of the Spanish footballer's left leg. The club announced that Asensio's treatment had begun and that the rehabilitation process would be carried out meticulously with the goal of having him ready for the Beşiktaş derby.

It was learned that both star players will not be able to feature in the Champions League play-off round second leg match against Olympique Lyon. While it has been confirmed that Asensio will also miss the Samsunspor match, it was reported that Kerem Aktürkoğlu's status for that match remains uncertain for now.
