Fenerbahçe issues statement on Mert Günok's injury
A strain and edema were detected in the yellow-navy blue goalkeeper's upper muscle, and the player will not be in the squad for the Gençlerbirliği match.
Fenerbahçe released an official statement through club channels regarding the health condition of experienced goalkeeper Mert Günok. The statement announced that an MRI scan performed at Ataşehir Medicana Hospital revealed a strain and edema in the player's upper muscle.
The club stated that following this diagnosis, Mert Günok will be kept away from the team as a precaution. Accordingly, the experienced goalkeeper will not be included in the squad for the upcoming Gençlerbirliği match.
According to the medical team's assessment, Günok is expected to stay off the pitch for about two weeks. Fenerbahçe's coaching staff plans to assign alternative names in goal during this period.
