Fenerbahçe announces UEFA Champions League squad

Fenerbahçe, who will represent Turkey in this season's UEFA Champions League, has officially announced the squad it will field in Europe's top club competition. The yellow-and-navy blue club confirmed a list containing a total of 35 players eligible to compete in the tournament.

Among the names on the announced list, goalkeepers Ederson and Mert Günok stand out alongside defenders such as Nathan Ake, Milan Skriniar and Nelson Semedo. In midfield, players like N'Golo Kante, Matteo Guendouzi and İrfan Can Kahveci feature prominently, while the attacking line includes experienced forwards such as Romelu Lukaku, Marco Asensio, Mason Greenwood, Kerem Aktürkoğlu and Vedat Muriqi.

Notably, four players were left out of Fenerbahçe's Champions League squad this season. Jayden Oosterwolde, Çağlar Söyüncü, Rodrigo Becao and Mert Hakan Yandaş did not make the list for the European competition. The club has not provided a detailed explanation regarding the reasoning behind these omissions.

On the other hand, the inclusion of some younger and lesser-known players also drew attention. Ognjen Mimovic, Kojo Peprah Oppong and Levent Mercan are among the names included in Fenerbahçe's Champions League roster. This development can be interpreted as a sign that the coaching staff intends to give younger players opportunities on the European stage as well.
