Galatasaray Announce Matchday Squad for Sporting CP Clash

Galatasaray have officially announced their squad for the away fixture against Sporting CP in the opening round of the UEFA Champions League, scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, at 22:00 Turkish time. The match will be played at the José Alvalade Stadium in the Portuguese capital Lisbon, marking the Yellow-Reds' first European outing of the season. The travelling party departed from the General Aviation Terminal of Istanbul Airport bound for Lisbon.

Galatasaray Vice President Metin Öztürk, along with board members Abdullah Kavukcu and Fatih Demircan, accompanied the delegation to the airport. Some players arrived by team bus while others made their way in private vehicles before joining the group. The squad will complete its final preparations at the stadium in Portugal ahead of kickoff.

However, the announced squad list features some notable absences. Victor Osimhen, Mario Lemina and Wilfried Singo were left out due to injuries, while Günay Güvenç also failed to make the list. The absence of these players is likely to significantly shape coach Okan Buruk's tactical planning for the match.
