Oğuz Çetin: We Have No Postponement Request for the Konyaspor Match
Fenerbahçe Football Director Oğuz Çetin stated after the Lyon match that they will not request a postponement for the upcoming Konyaspor fixture.

Fenerbahçe drew 1-1 with French side Lyon in Kadıköy in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League play-off round. Speaking immediately after the match, the yellow-and-navy blue club's Football Director Oğuz Çetin commented on both the game and other current topics. Çetin said it was of great importance for fans to fill the stadium and support the team, and that despite playing their third match in a short period, the team had shown a high level of fighting performance.

The executive emphasized that the team still has room for improvement in terms of playing quality and that physical fitness needs to be further increased. Noting that the team especially needs to be more effective in the attacking zone, Çetin stated that they will travel to the away match against Lyon with the goal of advancing in the tie, and that this belief is strong both within the management and among the players.

The most notable topic on the agenda, however, was whether the TÜMOSAN Konyaspor match would be postponed. Oğuz Çetin recalled that they had previously made only one official application on this matter, specifically due to the intense fixture and travel schedule following the Sturm Graz and Gençlerbirliği matches. However, noting that the Turkish Football Federation had rejected this request, Çetin said they did not think it appropriate to make another request to an institution that had already rejected them, and clearly stated that they, together with President Aziz Yıldırım, will not be submitting a new postponement request.
Çetin firmly stated that the club, with confidence in itself, aims to take on Konyaspor and win, then travel to the away match against Lyon to advance in the tie. Reminding that transfer efforts continue until September 4th, the executive noted that negotiations are ongoing for every area of need, including the defensive line. Çetin concluded his remarks with a question about Marco Asensio's physical condition, adding that the player, who was out of action for a long time last season, will gradually be brought back to match fitness and rhythm.
