Roma Make New Demand Over Oosterwolde Transfer, Decision Now Rests with Fenerbahçe

Uncertainty continues to surround the potential transfer of Fenerbahçe defender Jayden Oosterwolde to Roma. The Turkish club had already reached an agreement with the Italian side for a loan deal with an option to buy the Dutch centre-back, and the player subsequently travelled to Italy for his medical examination. However, the process has not gone as smoothly as expected, leaving the transfer unresolved.

Following the initial round of tests, Roma requested additional medical examinations for Oosterwolde, which prevented the deal from being finalised. According to reports in the Italian press, the defender's current injury may be more serious than initially thought, with suggestions that his return to full fitness could take longer than anticipated — a factor believed to be behind the delay.

Roma have now come back to Fenerbahçe with a new proposal. According to a report by A Spor, the Italian club is asking Fenerbahçe to cover three months of Oosterwolde's salary for this season. It remains unclear how the Fenerbahçe management will respond to this latest request.

Should Fenerbahçe agree to Roma's demand, the transfer is expected to go through. If the request is rejected, however, the 25-year-old defender is reportedly ready to return to the Fenerbahçe squad. Oosterwolde has featured in just three matches for Fenerbahçe this season, playing the full 90 minutes in both Champions League qualifying fixtures against Górnik Zabrze, before being forced off with an injury in the first half of the opening leg against Sturm Graz.
