Darwin Nunez transfer to Trabzonspor in final stage
The Black Sea giant is nearing an agreement with Al Hilal over a loan transfer, and the Uruguayan striker is expected to join the squad this week.

The process regarding Darwin Nunez, the most important name on Trabzonspor's agenda during the summer transfer window, is progressing rapidly. In talks personally conducted by Club President Ertuğrul Doğan and Vice President İbrahim Şahinkaya, contacts with Al Hilal have moved closer to a resolution. According to reports, an agreement has been reached with the Saudi club regarding the loan transfer of the Uruguayan forward, and the remaining small details are expected to be resolved shortly.

The technical staff hopes the 27-year-old player will join the squad this week. While Nunez is planned to contribute to the connective play in attack, Head Coach Fatih Tekke is expected to implement a two-forward system if this transfer materializes. It appears that the club, having previously signed Mohamed Salah, aims to bring Nunez in as well, reuniting the former Liverpool duo. The two stars played together at the English club between 2022 and 2025.

For Nunez, whom Trabzonspor will loan from Al Hilal, a payment of 8 million euros is planned, to be paid in installments. The Uruguayan striker played 24 official matches for Al Hilal last season, directly contributing to 14 goals in total with 9 goals and 5 assists.
Nunez, who has been transferred for high fees throughout his career, moved from Benfica to Liverpool for 85 million euros in 2022, and last season signed with Al Hilal for a fee of 53 million euros. Despite all this history, the Black Sea club's management is aiming to add the striker to their squad on a loan basis.
