Trabzonspor president Ertuğrul Doğan addresses coaching search

Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan gave exclusive remarks to A Spor addressing the club's search for a new head coach. Following the departure of Fatih Tekke, names such as Antonio Conte, Fatih Terim, Arda Turan, Abdullah Avcı, and Şenol Güneş had circulated as potential candidates. Doğan clearly stated that no discussions have taken place with any of these figures so far.

The president explained that there had been no talks with either Conte or Fatih Terim, and that Abdullah Avcı and Şenol Güneş were not currently on the club's agenda. He also noted that Arda Turan is currently under contract with another club, meaning he is not an option at this time. Doğan revealed that the board has spent the last three to four days evaluating the situation carefully, stressing that they cannot afford to make a mistake with this decision.

He said the club would proceed with great caution and consider every detail before finalizing a decision, adding that the incoming coach must not fail. According to Doğan, the club has requested reports and plans from certain coaches, and current signs suggest that the new manager will likely be a foreign name. He also admitted that his sense of embarrassment toward the fans has not fully faded despite last season's cup triumph, though he stressed this coaching matter cannot be resolved overnight.

In addition, Ertuğrul Doğan confirmed that Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu will remain with the club. His comments reaffirmed that the Trabzonspor board is approaching the coaching decision with considerable care and deliberation.
