Trabzonspor officially announces Mohamed Salah transfer

Trabzonspor has added Mohamed Salah to its squad, making one of the most notable moves of the summer transfer window. The club announced in its notification to the KAP (Public Disclosure Platform) that negotiations had begun with the Egyptian star regarding a transfer. The statement noted that the player is scheduled to arrive at Istanbul Atatürk Airport's General Aviation Terminal at 12:00 on Wednesday, August 5, and is expected to reach Trabzon the same evening. It was stated that details regarding the welcoming ceremony in Trabzon would be shared separately.

Following the public announcement of the transfer, Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan spoke to A Spor and explained the behind-the-scenes of the process. Doğan emphasized that the club needed such an important player and wished the transfer to be beneficial for the club community. The president said that the negotiations had to be kept confidential from the press to some extent in order not to disrupt the process, and expressed that they felt embarrassed toward members of the press over this.

Doğan stated that they conducted negotiations with Salah and his agent for about 10 days, and that the talks proceeded in a highly professional manner and within a framework of mutual respect. The president noted that the process gained clarity as of the previous day. Doğan also commented on the publicly discussed division of jersey sales revenue, saying that the club was given a certain percentage, but that the figures reported in the press did not reflect the truth, and that details would be shared with the public in the coming days.
