Trabzonspor eyeing winter move for national team defender Atakan Karazor

Trabzonspor are planning to bring in at least three new players during the winter transfer window to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season. Due to complications with their foreign player quota, the club's management has prioritized a list of domestic targets. Topping that list is Atakan Karazor, one of Stuttgart's captains who was also linked with the club during the summer transfer period. Trabzonspor's board has reportedly begun investigating the conditions required to complete a deal for the national team player.

The 29-year-old Karazor serves as one of two captains at the Bundesliga club and is considered a strong fit for the profile that head coach Thomas Reis is looking to bring in. According to reports, Stuttgart are expecting a transfer fee in the range of 8 to 10 million euros for the Turkish international. The 1.91-meter defender's current market value stands at 8 million euros.

However, the biggest challenge in this potential transfer will be persuading the player himself. Karazor, who has played for Stuttgart since 2019, has reportedly shown little enthusiasm about leaving Germany. Despite this, it is understood that Trabzonspor's management has already made initial contact to gauge his situation and could push the process forward if favorable conditions are met.

Karazor, whose contract with Stuttgart runs until 2028, brings notable versatility to the table as he can operate both in central midfield and at center-back. The experienced international has made 231 official appearances for Stuttgart, scoring 7 goals and providing 12 assists during his time at the club. Trabzonspor are expected to take concrete action on this transfer target during the winter window.
