Galatasaray Crisis Deepens with Second Resignation
Following tension at the October 27 board meeting, Metin Öztürk resigned, and Abdullah Kavukcu soon followed suit.

Galatasaray's management is facing turmoil after a series of resignations shook the club's board. Vice President Metin Öztürk announced he was stepping down from his position on the club's board of directors, as well as from his roles at affiliated companies, following incidents that took place during the board meeting held on October 27. Shortly after Öztürk's announcement, board member Abdullah Kavukcu also confirmed his resignation from the same position.

In a statement shared on social media, Metin Öztürk described the incident in harsh terms. He said that an act which turned into what he called a "physical assault and an insult directed at his late mother" during the October 27 meeting was something neither his upbringing as a Galatasaray man nor the values instilled by his parents would allow him to accept. His choice of words pointed to a serious confrontation having taken place at the meeting.
Abdullah Kavukcu, however, offered a different account of events in his own statement. He said that a mutual verbal argument had occurred between himself and Metin Öztürk, but claimed that the dispute had been exaggerated and distorted, particularly on social media, compared to what actually happened. Kavukcu stressed that he never wanted a disagreement between two club officials to overshadow Galatasaray's objectives or damage unity within the fan base. He added that his devotion to the club was not tied to any title or position, and that he would continue to contribute to Galatasaray's success in any way he could.
Reacting to the developments, veteran commentator Levent Tüzemen addressed the controversy during a live broadcast on A Spor, delivering sharp criticism of the club's management. Speaking directly to President Dursun Özbek, Tüzemen warned that the entire fan base would pay the price if the issue were not resolved. He questioned why officials were disturbing the peace at Galatasaray and what exactly they could not agree on, before invoking the famous words of Fatih Terim: "When it comes to Galatasaray, everything else is just a detail."
