Date for Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby officially confirmed
The Turkish Football Federation has put an end to speculation over a possible postponement of the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby.

Uncertainty had surrounded the scheduling of the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby, set for matchday 9 of the Trendyol Süper Lig, for several days. Since both clubs are also due to play in the Champions League during the same week, according to reports there were claims suggesting the derby date might be changed. Fans and the clubs themselves followed the situation closely as attention turned to the Turkish Football Federation for a final decision.

At its board meeting held on Tuesday, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) discussed the matter in detail. Following its assessment, the federation decided not to alter the date of the derby. This officially ended weeks of speculation, confirming that the original schedule would remain unchanged.
As a result, the derby between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe will go ahead as originally announced, kicking off at 21:30 on Monday, October 26, at RAMS Park. Galatasaray will host their fierce rivals on home turf, hoping to capitalize on the advantage of playing in front of their own supporters. RAMS Park has long served as the stage for intense and closely contested derbies between the two sides.
The current standings ahead of the clash have also drawn attention. Galatasaray currently sit on 19 points, while Fenerbahçe trail with 16 points in the league table. This gap is expected to add further intensity to the derby, as the winner stands to gain both momentum and ground in the standings. With the date now firmly set, supporters on both sides have shifted their focus entirely to preparations for the much-anticipated showdown.
