Bitshiabu heading to Istanbul for medical ahead of Galatasaray move

Galatasaray have reached an agreement with RB Leipzig to sign French centre-back El Chadaille Bitshiabu on loan as they look to bolster their defence before the summer transfer window closes. The 21-year-old defender is now set to travel to Istanbul to finalise the move.

The player had originally been expected to land in Istanbul at 23:45, but a traffic accident in Germany disrupted his travel plans. As a result, an alternative airport option is being considered to get Bitshiabu to Istanbul, with his arrival now expected in the morning hours.

A Spor commentator Serhan Türk confirmed on air that Bitshiabu would arrive later than planned. According to Türk, the delay stemmed from a traffic accident in Germany, and club officials were exploring different airport options to bring the player to Istanbul as soon as possible.

Once he lands, the French defender is expected to undergo his medical examination on Wednesday, September 2, before completing the paperwork for his move. Born on May 16, 2005, in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, France, Bitshiabu is of Democratic Republic of Congo descent and primarily plays as a centre-back.

Bitshiabu began his football journey in the ACBB academy in France before moving to Paris Saint-Germain's youth setup, where he progressed through the U17 and U19 sides and eventually broke into the first team. He has spent the past few seasons with RB Leipzig, and he is now set to embark on a new chapter with Galatasaray.
