Galatasaray begin Süper Lig campaign with 2-2 draw at Çorum FK
Champions of the last four seasons, Galatasaray, narrowly avoided defeat against newly promoted Arca Çorum FK at home, settling for a 2-2 draw.

In the opening match of the 2026-2027 Trendyol Süper Lig season, Galatasaray hosted Arca Çorum FK, who were competing in the Süper Lig for the first time, at RAMS Park. The yellow-and-reds were unable to overcome their opponents, and the match ended in a 2-2 draw, meaning the defending champions began the new season with an unexpected result.

In the first half, several clear chances from Osimhen failed to result in goals thanks to the goalkeeper's successful saves, and both teams went to the locker room without scoring. Galatasaray took the lead right at the start of the second half with a goal from Osimhen, but could not maintain their advantage for long. Çorum FK equalized through a goal from Kyziridis and shortly after took the lead themselves with a goal from Ramirez. Galatasaray gained a numerical advantage in the 70th minute when Kyziridis received a red card, and increased their pressure, but were unable to find the equalizer for a long time due to the performance of goalkeeper Felipe. In the final minute of the match, Osimhen once again scored to bring the score to 2-2, and the match ended with this result.

With this result, Galatasaray broke their streak of winning their opening home match of the season, which had continued since the 2002-2003 season - a habit the yellow-and-reds had maintained for 12 consecutive seasons. On the other hand, Galatasaray continued their unbeaten run at home, which had lasted since their defeat to Fenerbahçe on May 19, 2024. Arca Çorum FK, meanwhile, earned their first point in the league with a draw in their first-ever Süper Lig match, along with their first official goal scored by Kyziridis.
