Mahmut Uslu's harsh referee criticism after Gençlerbirliği match: 'Two of our penalties were not given'

Fenerbahçe Secretary General Mahmut Uslu once again drew attention to VAR and referee practices with his statements after the match.

Uslu pointed to two penalty situations that he believed should have been awarded in the match, specifically describing the moment of Talisca's contact with the ball via his arm as a clear penalty and red card situation. Uslu, noting that even the identity of the VAR referee on duty could not be clarified, emphasized that such ambiguities need to be resolved.

Continuing his remarks by addressing the President of the Turkish Football Federation, Uslu requested that all necessary measures be taken and underlined that they wanted to compete under equal conditions throughout the season. Uslu claimed that Fenerbahçe has faced adverse decisions in head-to-head matches up to now, adding that this trend is not sustainable.

Uslu also reminded that the club had requested a postponement ahead of the upcoming Champions League play-off match, but this request was not accommodated. Uslu, adding that they respect other teams, stated that his remarks were solely meant to point out the grievance experienced by their own club.
