Osimhen's Injury Confirmed: Groin Strain Detected

Concern is growing at Galatasaray over Victor Osimhen following his injury in the fourth week of the Süper Lig against Başakşehir. The Nigerian striker started the match but was forced off in the 32nd minute due to discomfort. After MRI scans and further examinations, the club confirmed that Osimhen suffered a moderate-to-severe strain, involving bleeding and tearing, in his right adductor muscle group.

Galatasaray's official statement did not specify an exact recovery timeline, but according to reports, Osimhen is expected to be out for approximately three weeks. If this timeline holds, the striker would miss upcoming matches against Sporting Lisbon, Kocaelispor and Trabzonspor. His precise return date will depend on how his treatment progresses, with the club expected to provide further updates in due course.

Osimhen was not the only player injured in the same match, as Mario Lemina also picked up a knock. According to the club, Lemina was diagnosed with a similarly moderate-to-severe strain in his right adductor muscle group. Both players' treatment processes are being overseen by the club's medical staff.

Osimhen's absence has pushed head coach Okan Buruk toward a change in his forward line. According to reports, Buruk is expected to hand Barış Alper Yılmaz the striker role for the upcoming Sporting Lisbon match. Meanwhile, young forward Deniz Gül, signed from Porto, is reportedly not yet considered ready for the position due to his current form.
