Trabzonspor Plans Onana Deal, Set to Negotiate with Manchester United
Trabzonspor are preparing to open transfer fee talks with Manchester United in a bid to permanently sign goalkeeper Andre Onana, who has impressed this season.

Trabzonspor's management is preparing concrete steps to secure Andre Onana on a long-term basis after the goalkeeper's impressive form since the start of the campaign. The Cameroonian shot-stopper kept clean sheets in his last three Süper Lig matches and currently tops European leagues with a save percentage of 89.1. Alongside his performances, his repeated statements about being happy in Trabzon have also influenced the club's decision to act.
The club is preparing to sit down with Manchester United to negotiate a transfer fee for the 30-year-old goalkeeper. According to reports, the Premier League side is asking for 10 million euros for Onana, but Trabzonspor's first target will be to negotiate that figure down. Should they succeed in convincing Manchester United, the club management is also expected to ask for concessions from the 1.90-meter-tall keeper, who currently earns 5.5 million euros per year along with a reported 2 million euro signing bonus.
Reports suggest the plan is to offer Onana a five-year contract, with the goalkeeper said to be willing to stay in Trabzon for the long term. The management has reportedly already made initial contact with his agent regarding the matter. It is also emphasized that President Ertuğrul Doğan has personally held talks with Onana and that a roadmap has been established between the two parties.
Manchester United signed the Cameroonian goalkeeper from Inter Milan in 2023 for 50 million euros, and his contract with the English club runs until 2028. It is noted that Manchester United's demand of 25 million euros for Onana during the previous transfer window led to changes in the buy-option clause of his loan. The special bond the goalkeeper has reportedly formed with the city of Trabzon is also seen as a factor working in the Turkish club's favor.
