Bonus Clause for Uğurcan Çakır Brings Trabzonspor an Additional €3 Million

A special clause inserted into the transfer agreement for goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır's move to Galatasaray has proven to be a valuable asset for Trabzonspor. The club's management had carefully included a performance-based success clause during the transfer negotiations, and it is now paying off.
According to the deal details previously disclosed through the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), Galatasaray was obligated to pay Trabzonspor a conditional bonus should Uğurcan Çakır feature in the Champions League during the 2026-27 season. That payment amounts to a net €2.5 million, or €3 million including VAT. The clause underlines that the transfer was structured not merely as a one-off sale but as a long-term revenue arrangement.
As a reminder, when the transfer was officially confirmed, Trabzonspor had already secured a guaranteed net fee of €27.5 million, or €33 million including VAT. That figure alone ranked among the highest transfer revenues in the club's history.
Following Uğurcan Çakır's start in the match against Sporting, the bonus condition in the contract was activated, bringing an extra €3 million into Trabzonspor's accounts. As a result, the total revenue generated from the sale of Uğurcan Çakır has now climbed to €36 million for the Black Sea club.
