Fenerbahçe confirms injury updates on Ake and Asensio
Fenerbahçe has officially disclosed the medical status of Nathan Ake and Marco Asensio, with both players set to be sidelined for extended periods.

Fenerbahçe has released details regarding the condition of Nathan Ake, who was forced off during the Champions League away fixture against Slavia Prag. The Dutch centre-back started the match but was unable to continue after experiencing discomfort during play. An MRI scan conducted the following day at Ataşehir Medicana Hospital, followed by an examination from the club doctor, revealed a moderate strain and swelling in the posterior muscle of his right thigh.
According to the club's statement, Ake's treatment and rehabilitation process is expected to last approximately three weeks. During this period, Fenerbahçe will face Galatasaray, Göztepe and Çorum FK in the Süper Lig. The club will also host Liverpool in the Champions League in the same window, meaning the experienced defender could miss several important fixtures.

Another player mentioned in the same announcement was Spanish midfielder Marco Asensio. Due to a cartilage lesion in his left knee, Asensio underwent arthroscopic surgery in Spain under the supervision of the club doctor. Fenerbahçe confirmed that the operation was successful and stated that his recovery is projected to take around three months.
As a result, Fenerbahçe will be without two key players in both defense and midfield for an extended stretch. Asensio's three-month absence means the club will have to navigate a crucial part of the season without his experience in the squad. The coaching staff is expected to turn to alternative options during this period.
