Clement Turpin to referee Fenerbahçe-Liverpool clash

Fenerbahçe will host Liverpool at home in matchday four of the Champions League league phase. The Turkish side have picked up two wins and a draw from their opening three fixtures and are eager to add more points against their English opponents. The high-profile encounter is scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, kicking off at 20:45.

Ahead of the crucial clash, UEFA has confirmed the match officials. Frenchman Clement Turpin has been appointed as the referee for the Fenerbahçe-Liverpool fixture. He will be assisted by fellow countrymen Nicolas Danos and Benjamin Pages, while Jeremy Stinat will serve as the fourth official.

In the video assistant referee booth, Willy Delajod will take charge of VAR duties, supported by Eric Wattellier as AVAR. This means the entire officiating team, both on the pitch and in the VAR room, is made up of French officials.

Looking back at Clement Turpin's previous matches involving Turkish clubs reveals a mixed record. The Frenchman officiated the September 30, 2025 match in which Galatasaray defeated Liverpool 1-0. He has also crossed paths with Fenerbahçe before, overseeing a 1-1 draw between Fenerbahçe and Manchester United on October 24, 2024, as well as a 1-0 win for Fenerbahçe over Braga on March 10, 2016.

Among his other past assignments, Başakşehir lost 2-1 to Sevilla on August 16, 2017, while a match between Lazio and Trabzonspor on December 12, 2013 ended goalless. With this history in mind, Fenerbahçe will be hoping to collect points against Liverpool to keep their ambitions of finishing in the top 24 of the league phase alive.
