UEFA rejects Galatasaray's request to postpone Lille match
UEFA has turned down Galatasaray's application to delay the Lille fixture amid unrest in France.

Galatasaray will travel to face French side Lille in matchday three of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, October 21, with kickoff set for 19:45 Turkish time. Ahead of the fixture, protests involving violence and looting broke out in France, drawing attention to the match's circumstances. In response, Galatasaray's management approached UEFA citing security concerns.

The Turkish club formally requested a postponement of the match. However, UEFA's response went against Galatasaray's expectations, as the request was denied. UEFA's decision made clear that the fixture would proceed on its originally scheduled date and in front of spectators.
A Spor reporter Emre Kaplan reported that Galatasaray's management had been pursuing the postponement effort for three days. According to Kaplan, UEFA insists on the match being played as normally scheduled, with fans in attendance. He added that no change is expected going forward.
As a result, the Lille-Galatasaray clash will go ahead as planned on Wednesday, October 21, at 19:45. Following UEFA's decision, Galatasaray's fans and management must now prepare for the match under this schedule. The fixture is considered one of the key games of this Champions League group stage and carries significance for both clubs in terms of their standings.
