Galatasaray has announced that Rafael Leao suffered a mild-to-moderate groin strain following the match against Gençlerbirliği.

Galatasaray released an official statement on its website regarding the health condition of Portuguese forward Rafael Leao. According to the club, an MRI and further tests conducted at Acıbadem hospital revealed a mild-to-moderate strain in the groin area. The club confirmed that treatment has already begun and the player's recovery will be monitored through daily check-ups.

The injury occurred during Galatasaray's away fixture against Gençlerbirliği in week eight of the Trendyol Süper Lig season. Leao started the match on the bench and was brought on in the 61st minute, but was forced off just 16 minutes later, in the 77th minute, due to the injury. In total, the Portuguese attacker managed only 16 minutes on the pitch in that game.

Following the match, Galatasaray had stated that a clear diagnosis would be announced after further examinations on the following day. With today's statement, the severity of Leao's injury has now been officially confirmed. The club appears set to take a cautious approach to his recovery process.
According to reports, Rafael Leao is not expected to feature in Galatasaray's upcoming Champions League away fixture against Lille on Wednesday, October 21. His condition is reportedly being closely monitored ahead of the derby against Fenerbahçe. Fans are now anxiously waiting to see whether Leao will be fit in time for the crucial match.
