Slovenian referee Obrenovic to officiate Lille vs Galatasaray
UEFA has appointed Slovenian referee Rade Obrenovic to take charge of Galatasaray's away fixture against Lille in the Champions League.

The UEFA Champions League continues this week with its third matchday fixtures. Galatasaray will travel to face French side Lille in this round. The match is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium. According to UEFA's official statement, kickoff is set for 19:45 Turkish time.

UEFA has announced the referee appointed for the Lille-Galatasaray fixture. The match will be officiated by Rade Obrenovic from the Slovenian Football Federation. Jure Praprotnik and Matej Zunic will serve as his assistant referees. Martin Matosa has been appointed as the fourth official for the game.
The video assistant referee team has also been confirmed by UEFA. Matej Jug will take charge of the VAR duties. He will be supported by Dutch official Dennis Higler in the AVAR role. With these appointments, the full officiating team for the match is now complete.
This is not the first time Slovenian referee Rade Obrenovic has overseen a match involving a Turkish club this season. He previously officiated Trabzonspor's away fixture against Ferencvaros in the UEFA Europa League play-off round. This prior experience suggests Obrenovic is already a familiar name among Turkish football followers.
Galatasaray are looking to strengthen their standing in the Champions League as the competition reaches its third matchday. The away trip to Lille is viewed as a challenging test for the Istanbul side. Fans are hoping for both a fair contest on the pitch and consistent refereeing decisions throughout the match.
